Where is Eustis, Florida?

Paisley is a small unincorporated community located in the of the "Paisley Precinct" in Lake County, Florida adjacent to the Ocala National Forest and the newly established Ellis Acres Reserve. The Paisley Precinct encompasses an area that covers about forty thousand acres. The Precinct is bound on the north side Alexander Spring Creek, on the south side by Lake Norris, the east by the St. Johns River, and on the west by Blackwater Creek. It is roughly seventeen miles from east to west and seven miles from north to south. The community of Paisley is located near the center of the precinct on CR 42 E halfway between Highway 19 and the St. Johns River.

When the first homesteaders arrived and settled here in 1854, this area was part of Orange County. Lake County was formed 33 years later, on May 27, 1887, from portions of Orange and Sumter Counties.*
